What the Bible Says to the Believer

Based on the book, What the Bible Says to the Believer: The Believer’s Personal Handbook, this course is designed to help Christians understand and fulfill their life’s purpose based on God’s word. The book, and this course, is dedicated, “To all the believers of the world who need and want a closer walk with the Lord day by day.”

  • Course Level: Foundational
  • Course length: 12 lessons
  • Prerequisites: Either:
    • Course: The Simple Gospel Video Course
    • Course: Basics of the Bible
    • Experience: A born-again follower of Jesus with basic knowledge of the Bible and regular attendance and participation in a local church. (Determined acceptable by the course instructor.)
  • Recommended formats: Personal Discipleship; Small Group
  • Requirements:
    • Bible
    • Book, which is available from: [Amazon] [Logos]
    • Notebook (or the Note Tool in Logos Bible Software)
  • Expectations:
    • Consistent attendance and participation at all course huddles (meetings).
    • All assignments completed for each lesson before the huddle for that lesson.
    • Acknowledge/respond to all messages from the instructor within 24 hours.

Assignments

Before the first, introductory huddle:

  • Read and agree to the course description above.
  • Read the introductory information and the table of contents in the book so you understand the scope of this course.

For each lesson:

  1. Lesson assignments are to be completed before lesson’s huddle.
  2. Slowly, thoughtfully and prayerfully study the assigned chapter
    • Highlight and take notes on anything that you find is important or convicting.
    • In your notes, include the page number, statement that caught your attention, and the thoughts or feelings you had when you read it.
  3. Complete additional tasks as assigned by the instructor.
  4. Be ready to summarize what the lesson taught, how it affected you, and how you will respond to what you learned.
  5. Be ready to ask questions and discuss details related to the assignments.
